Thomas “Dip” Di Piazza, Jr.

DI PIAZZA, Thomas Jr. “Dip”, 84, of Lodi, died on January 28, 2013. Born in Garfield, he lived there for 27 years before settling in Lodi 57 years ago. He was Army Veteran of the Korean War where he served as a medic, and a former member of the Lodi VFW. He worked for the Ford Motor Company in Teterboro and for the Borough of Lodi for 25 years retiring in 1986, he was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Church, Lodi, and a member of the United Auto Workers Union and the I.L.G.W.U. – Passaic Local. He is predeceased by his wife of 59 years Rene (nee Belli) on July 1, 2012, and his son, Joseph DiPiazza in 1995. He is survived by two sons, Robert DiPiazza, and Thomas DiPiazza, III and his wife Michelle, two daughters, Diane DiPiazza, and Susan Manno and her husband Craig, 7 grandchildren, Joseph, Jodi, Gia, Craig Jr. Joseph, Bella, and Michael, and a sister, RoseMarie Allotta and her husband Mario. Thomas was a great husband, father, grandfather and friend. The funeral is Thursday, January 31, 2013 arriving at the Aloia Funeral Home at 8:30 am followed by a 9:30 am mass at St. Francis de Sales RC Church, Lodi. Interment George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. Visiting Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The DiPiazza family is in the care of the Aloia Funeral Home, 180 Harrison Ave., Garfield (973-340-7077).
