FARKAS, Eleanor I. (Skeeba), age 85, of Garfield, died on September 12, 2013. Born in McAdoo, PA, she lived there for 23 years before settling in Garfield 62 years ago. She started her career in PA as a sewing machine operator at McAdoo Manufacturing for five years, and when she moved to NJ, she worked for ITT, Nutley as a coil assembler, Howard Zink, Passaic as a sewing machine operator, and Bendix, Teterboro as a coil assembler before staying home and raising her family. She was a member of the Garfield VFW Post 2867 Ladies Auxiliary serving as president, secretary, chaplain, and District 2 President, Garfield AARP, and she was a parishioner of Mt. Virgin Church. She is predeceased by her husband Richard “Dick” on February 6, 2013, and a sister Dorothy Skeeba in 2000. She is survived by a son, Robert D. Farkas, two daughters, Joan D. Farkas and Elaine I. Farkas, and two grandchildren, Jacquelynn Farkas and Melanie Cimiluca. The funeral is Monday, September 16, 2013, arriving at the Aloia Funeral Home at 8 am followed by a 9 am mass at Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church, Garfield.
