PORFIDO, Maria (nee Carrino), age 62, of Woodland Park, died on February 7, 2014. She was born in Avellino, Italy, and as a child she came to America living in Hoboken for 10 years, Garfield for 35 years and Woodland Park the past six months. She was a seamstress before retiring, and a parishioner of Mt. Virgin Church, Garfield. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Mario, and three sisters, Faustina Porfido and her late husband Michele, Albertina Selvaggi and her husband Frank, and Eva Amato and her husband Giovanni. The funeral is Tuesday, February 11, 2014, arriving at the Aloia Funeral Home at 8 am followed by a 9 am mass at Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church, Garfield. Entombment St. Mary’s Cemetery, Saddle Brook. Visiting Monday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. In lieu of flowers the family is accepting donations for The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration.
