MELENDEZ, Carlos A., age 95, of Lodi, died on February 23, 2014. Born in Ambato, Ecuador, he lived in there for 52 years, Garfield for 30 years, and Lodi the past 13 years. He worked for Russ Berry Company in Oakland, NJ before retiring. He is survived by his wife of 70 years Marina Espinoza de Meléndez, two sons, Edwin and Henry Melendez, seven daughters, Blanca Melendez, Betty Jaya, Mariana Grados, Judy Gentile, Lupe Miravittles, Maggie Melendez, and Marcie Melendez, 26 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Judith Morillo, Melida Melendez, and Olga Caicedo. He is predeceased by his brothers Jorge and Juan Melendez. Visiting Wednesday morning from 10 am to 12 pm with a chapel service to follow. Private cremation.
