Helene A. Pavlica

PAVLICA, Helene A. (nee Tremolini), age 78, of Hackettstown, formerly of Hamburg and Garfield, NJ, passed away on October 13, 2015 in Fredon, NJ after a short illness. Born in Brooklyn, NY on February 6, 1937 to John and Sophie Tremolini, she lived there until her family moved to Fair Lawn, NJ in 1950, and she subsequently moved to Clifton, Lodi, and Garfield after her marriage on May 30, 1959. After retirement, she moved to Hamburg to be closer to her grandchildren and subsequently moved to the House of the Good Shepherd, an assisted living facility in Hackettstown. Over the years, she was a biller-expediter for Moon Carrier Trucking in Clifton, Silver Streak Transportation in East Rutherford, Overnite Transportation in Moonachie, Stephen Lawrence Gift Wrap Company in Moonachie, and Bergen Industrial Supply Company in Elmwood Park. She was a past president of the Home and School Association of Christopher Columbus School No. 8 in Garfield, and during the 1970’s, she and her family were very active with the Garfield Cadets, the most honored junior drum and bugle corps in the world. She was a very generous person who would give you the shirt off her back and she had a fun loving personality. Her love will forever be in our hearts. Predeceased by her loving husband Andrew E. “Ace” Pavlica on December 1, 1996. Loving and devoted mother of: Andrew J. “Drew” Pavlica and wife Joan Preztunik of Hasbrouck Heights, Mary Ann Simmons and husband James of Hackettstown, Susan Bekefi and companion John Schmidt of Vernon, and Donna “Valentine” Pavlica of Bloomington, MN. Loving sister to Robert Tremolini and wife Gloria of Murrieta, CA. Treasured grandmother of Nicole, John, Andrew, and Christopher Bekefi and Justin B. Simmons. Caring Aunt to James Tremolini, Sharon Scanlon, and the late Dianne Brown. Beloved cousin of the Prostak family of the Paradise Farm in Clinton Township, NJ. Visiting Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral is Friday, October 16, 2015, arriving at the Aloia Funeral Home, 180 Harrison Ave., Garfield (973-340-7077) at 8 am followed by a 9 am mass at Most Holy Name Church, Garfield. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery, Saddle Brook. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The House of the Good Shepherd.
