Thomas Joseph Sabolewski

SABOLEWSKI, Thomas Joseph, 57, of Garfield, passed away December 13, 2015. Born July 4, 1958 in Passaic, NJ. After graduating Passaic High, Tom joined the U.S. Marine Corps. He was employed by Long Island Stove in Lyndhurst, NJ, Morris B. Moving in Elmwood Park, NJ, and for the past three years, he worked for the grounds crew at the Lyons Veterans Hospital in Basking Ridge, NJ. A hard worker, sports fan of the Mets and 49ers, Tom also enjoyed fishing, bowling, camping, and spending time with family and friends. In 1986, he married Maureen and they raised their three children in Garfield, NJ. He was proud to have served his country just as well as being a proud dad and grandfather. He is predeceased by his parents, Ben and Violet, two sisters, Kay and Georgette, a brother-in-law, Daniel Schuller, and a sister-in-law, Katherine Zawadzinski. He is survived by Maureen, three children, Douglas, Amanda, and Kristopher and his wife Isabel, three grandchildren, Sean, Rachel, and Kayden, his mother-in-law, Elizabeth Schuller, three brothers-in-law, William, Walt, and David Schuller, and three sisters-in-law, Barbara Schuller, Virginia Paluch, and Colleen Vilela. Also survived by his closest niece, Kim Ortiz, three brothers, Ben, Wayne, and Frank, and a sister, Vanessa. Loving uncle to nieces and nephews on both sides, friends, and neighbors. He will be forever loved and missed. Memorial Visiting will be Sunday, December 20, 2015 from 12 to 4 pm at the Aloia Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Tom to Addiction Hope and the Wounded Warrior Project would be appreciated.
