Julia Discenza

DISCENZA, Julia (nee LaPlaca), age 90, died on January 27, 2017. She was born in Paterson residing there for 35 years before moving to Garfield 55 years ago. Mrs. Discenza was parishioner of Most Holy Name RC Church in Garfield and a member of the Rosary Society. Julia was employed by the Bendix Corporation in Teteboro as a riveter for 30 years before retiring. She is predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Patrick on January 9, 2017 and her sister, Anna Pearl LaPlaca-Hunt. She is survived by her daughter,Julia Pinghera and husband Tony, and four grandchildren, Lisa, Anthony, Joya, and Vinnie Pinghera. Visiting Monday 3 to 8 pm. The funeral is Tuesday, January 31, 2017, arriving at the Aloia Funeral Home at 8:30 am followed by a 9:30 am mass at Most Holy Name RC Church, Garfield. Interment St. Nicholas Cemetery, Lodi.
