BENANTI, Charles, age 73, a lifelong resident of Lodi, died on November 19, 2012. He owned and operated Charles Benanti General Contracting in Lodi for over 45 years retiring in 2009, he as a parishioner of Mt. Virgin Church, a member of the VV Rod and Gun Club in Vernon and the Wildlife Preserve Club in Trout Creek, NY, and he was an avid hunter, fisherman, Giants, and Yankee fan. He is predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Carmella “Millie” Benanti, and his brother, Joseph. He is survived by two nephews, Anthony Benanti and his wife Christine, and Charles M. Benanti, two great-nephews, Michael and Anthony, a great-niece, Brittany, his girlfriend of 10 years, Doreen Spano, her son Vito Spano and his wife Lisa, and two grandchildren, Mia and Giovanni. He was a dear cousin and friend of many. The funeral is Saturday, November 24, 2012, arriving at the Aloia Funeral Home at 8 am followed by a 9 am mass at Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church, Garfield. BARON, Nell (nee Serafin), age 96, of Passaic, died on November 20, 2012. Born in Passaic, she moved to Kowalewo, Poland as a little girl settling back in Passaic in 1940. She was a sewing machine operator for over 30 years retiring from Bernsteins in Passaic in 1981, she was a member of the I.L.G.W.U. Passaic Local, and she was a parishioner of St. Joseph Church in Passaic. She is predeceased by her husband Frank in 1982, a brother, Adam Serafin, and three sisters, Eva Haino, Mary Wilson, and Victoria Serafin. She is survived by a son, Dr. Henry Baron and his wife Annik, two grandchildren, Jerome and Julie Baron, and a sister, Sophie Ciely. She is survived by her son, Michael and his wife Dorothy, her daughter, Meg Clancy and her husband Reverend Robert Clancy, and three grandchildren, T.J. and Ryan DeSanto, and Evan Clancy. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War, and he worked 30 years as a letter carrier for the Garfield Post Office retiring in 1990. In his retirement, he worked as a crossing guard in Garfield. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Garfield where he was the sexton and a choir member, a volunteer fireman with Garfield Fire Company 2 for 14 years, a member of the NJ Exempt Firemen’s Association, the Elmwood Park American Legion, and the Garfield VFW. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Audrey (nee Oberling), three sons, Paul and his wife Joyce, Kenneth and his wife Donna, and David and his wife Kim, a daughter, Lynn DeAngelis and her husband Daniel, two sisters, Lorraine Werner and Arlene Bergamini, and seven grandchildren, Megan, Cassandra, Timothy, Rachel, Brittany, Sydney, and Hailey.
